(A few years ago we were graciously invited to the now-defunct "Dick Gibson Jazz Party" in downtown Denver, Colorado. As a matter of fact It was our first real date! We were honored to experience some of the greatest Jazzmen on Earth; they played 24/7 for 4 days in a variety of configurations, sometimes soloing and sometimes in large "big bands." I was able to take many (grainy) available light black and white photographs, which Cheryl later painted with the results shown below. It was, in essence, the birth of photofantasia. "Mister Bassman" is now-deceased renowned Jazz bass player Major Holley. He had a technique of "breathing" over the strings to create the effect that the standup bass was actually "singing" the song.)
